I also tested out the demo and I agree..it was too short for a 900MB download.
Since I'm much more interested in the engine, I did some poking around...
It appears to be using a souped up DS2 engine and the .ssres files are the same format as Dungeon Siege tank files with a slightly different header. Gas and Skrit files are still in use, but things have been moved around quite a bit and renamed.
Looks like it could be interesting when the full version comes out.
