Question regarding tank viewing/creating utilities

Hey guys: I've been browsing through the tools downloads for DS2 and it appears that the site that hosted Tank Extractor has changed owners or something. http://www.siegetheday.org/?q=node/1348 Clicking on the link to download leads to a bunch of links for "free internet games" and things of that nature. Clicking on the link for contact information redirected me to Kohl's department store. I have the toolkit, but are there any other utilities I can get to substitute for Tank Extractor? *EDIT* I tried clicking on the contact link again and my antivirus popped up with a warning and blocked the page from loading. So, if you try the links for yourself, be careful. forums: |

I know I have several tank extraction programs. I will find them and give you a link via email Kathy
I removed the links to Siege-Mods because that site died a long time ago... download from here (link at the bottom of the page).
Tank Extractor doesn't do anything you can't do with TankViewer2 though. Use that. It's much faster and more user friendly.
I use TankViewer2 because it allows me to tank both dsres and ds2res and has a lot of other cool features also.
I would like to use Tank Viewer 2 also, as the version I have is 1.02. The problem is...where does one get it?
I've been looking through the tools downloads here and haven't seen it. Am I looking in the wrong place?
Oh, and I forgot to say thank you for changing the link.
Thank you!
I was thinking of Tank Creator 2 when I said tank viewer 2 sorry. At present I am using tank viewer 1.02 and Tank Creator 2. blonde hair got me again.

I seem to have gotten way ahead of myself. The first order of business should have been to ask if Tankviewer 1 was compatible with DS2, as well as DS1. From your response, Lili, it appears that it is, so that's cool. Thanks for the advice.
TV2 is really just TV1 slightly modified to work with the DS2 file headers. While it has been a long time since I've dealt with any of this, I believe TV2 is a part of the DS2TK installation.

Kathy I was wondering what Antivirus Program you are using, because I downloaded the file onto one of my computers which I use to get files that might be infected or whatever. Then I opened the zip file and scanned the computer with several antivirus programs that I have I also checked it for other oddities and could not find anything odd, nasty or damaged.

I use Avast, Lili. So I can feel like a pirate when I say "Avast, ye scurvy viruses."
Yes, I am far too fond of bad jokes. :silly:
The problem that I had wasn't with the file itself, it was the webpage that used to host it, Siege-Mods. They apparently went away some time ago, but I didn't know that at the time. When I clicked on some links at "Siege-Mods" that is when Avast gave the warning and blocked whatever malicious page was loading.
Thanks for the heads up re: the DS2 toolkit, Sharkull. I downloaded it a few days ago but haven't had a chance to take a look at it.
Tank Viewer 2 comes with the DS2TK. They made Dan's Tank Viewer official for DS2. It can view and extract.
Edit: Opps, you've probably figured that out by now!
