Problem with Dungeon siege games.

I have come to peace with the fact that my computer is slowly deteriorating in performance, however, it will not run 2 (3?) of the best games ever.
First of all... Dungeon siege and DSLOA Will not run. I have them both completely installed on my computer, but when I double click the icon or select 'play' from the disk menu, it won't even begin to run. It hows the hourglass on the cursor for a second, then it goes away and does nothing. I even left it running overnight to see if it'd boot up. I've restarted over and over, changed the compatibility a million times.. But nothing.
Second, Dungeon siege 2 Modding prblems. I am not at all an experienced modder but all the mods I have can be found on this website. Message me if you want the list, however thats not really the problem. It is on problem with mapmodding that I believe destroyed my game as long as it has other mods in it. I one day put in other maps to play and explore, which was fun. However when I was done and decided to play the main story again, it would not work. For example, I'd start the game and it shows the beginning cutscenes of th game. However right before it shows the mercs leaving the crate, instead, it is an almost cmpletey black screen. It shows the hud with no map on compass. The inventory and even the skill at the bottom works... but the game is barely there. As in, no cursor, no map, no npc's... Nada! Even when I removed the maps and uninstalled-reinstalled the game, it refused to work. Even with Succubus manager. (allsaves doesnt even work) So... I need help!!! (Other problem stated in next topic)
Third- Broken world. Everytime I try to install it.. The installing bar will completely 100% stop at the near-beginning. Basically I can't install it, and what files DID save, I CAN'T REMOVE!!! Also, when I'm given the option t load a map in DS2, It shows broken world, yet, it isn't there. And when I select the normal Dungeon siege 2, it says the map can not be loaded.... This worked on Windows 7 before, but now... I need help!  |

Hi Raymus,
It appears from your post that you are running Windows7 and although I do not run 7 but XP I know that all of the Dungeon Siege games run nicely with Windows7.
Some information about your computer if you do not mind.
1. Have you run a full scan with a good anti-virus program?
2. What processor are you running?
3. How much memory do you have installed and have you run a diagnostic on the memory to verify it is working correctly?
4. What video card and sound card are you running? Have you updated drivers on either just prior to this problem?
5. The hard drives on your system what make and model is each? What size is each? Have you run a diagnostic on them? Have you defragmented them?
If all the games where working on this computer before, what if any changes where made just before the games failed to run?
for ds1 and loa, need to run the dsvideoconfig which should appear on start menu with the games, and set them to hardware driver of the video card u have and not TnL and that could fix the issue
also would suggest turning antivirus off when reinstalling the game, they tend to corrupt files.
The problem for DS2 is most definately the mods. Even if I remove them, though, the problem reoccurs. However, here is the list and they can pretty much all be found here. (So I don't think Links need to be added?)
-6 character slots in mercenary and veteran
-Custom pets reloaded 4 succubus (Working without succubus manager and added after the problem started)
-DEDrevin
-DEMercArmor
-Drake Leather Armor
-DS2 Drevin's Vengeance (Three times removed and replaced with DEDrevin, never at the same time)
-Extra Hair (Guru, I believe?)
-Instant Experience (Only because The problems make it hard to play so I just made myself max to enjoy a bit)
-Meleesets (Found on fileplanet, but just search dungeon siege 2 full sets mod in the search bar)
-Mod-Pet-Kohl Beast
-Mod-Pet-WarHound
-Mod-Rename character
-Mod-Storage Vault
-RingRemoval
-Snowbrook Armor
-Volkan's Animated Armor (Actually not a huge fan of this one, might remove it.)
- and of course, Hotfix!
And so is the list, I hope it can be determined which is causing me problems or if it IS just my computer interferring...

also i would suggest removing DEDrevin, and using DS2 Drevin's Vengeance instead.
as for the armor mods they should work fine together.
the problem i can see is though if Drevin is indeed in your party or inn, then removing the mod could indeed cause game not to work. If Drevin cant be sent to wild b4 removing mod and his special items.
If all else fails may have to start new character without my DEDrevin mod at any rate i do not suggest using the mod.
also what version of ds2 u using ? 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2 ?
I'm using V.2.2
Funny thing though... Is when I run the patch the game works fine, I can't load the succubus manager, but the normal game with the mods works decently... with massive Inn party bugs. As in, I would select one person to withdraw and get someone else. I have 2 Deru's and Three Drevins now..
Edit: And when I don't re-download the 2.2 Patch, it has all the problems I stated in the start of the forum.

Even with all the help I've been getting, I still only get this!
Should I just wipe my drive and replace the operating system with Vista or XP?
Because I'm willing to If I must to play these games!
Edit: Okay the picture won't post, but basically it's a black screen with the hud only.
if u must, choose xp, vista sucks worse than win7, also can dualboot xp with win7 have the best of both worlds
First there is no point in installing Vista as it was very poorly designed think it was done be the same people that did Windows ME. I run XP Service Pack 3 and have no problems with any of the Dungeon Siege Games. As Dark_Elf suggested you might do a dual boot system so that you can run both 7 and XP.
