Is Dungeon Siege capable of knocking out Internet?

The day this is posted, and the day before I have been having massive problems with internet connectivity. Coincidentally or not, this is the same time I resumed playing "Dungeon Siege" and "Dungeon Siege Legends of Aranna". However I have not been doing mere playing. No, I've been finding mods all over the internet for the game, and not only do I have it on MY laptop, but my sister's laptop. I put in the Dungeon Siege Disk to start up the game, take it out, and use it to start up the game on my sister's laptop, therefore we are able to play together online on one disc. So, to recap; I play Dungeon Siege Online on the same network with my sister, both of our Dungeon Siege copies are Modded to high hell, and more or less around the time we started doing it, these internet problems came up. I am able to run Facebook very poorly, But NOTHING else on Internet Explorer or Google Chrome will work at all. Usually it says I have a problem with DNS. We can still play online, as well as Skype still working to an extent. So... Any Ideas? forums: |

Are the computers connected via a router (like in the same house) or are you playing over the Internet? Your computer connected to a modem of some type (DSL Cable or whatever) and the same with your sister.
her computer connected to a different modem? There could be issues if you are playing over the internet at the same time as you are trying to access the internet.
Sounds reasonable enough. After reading your post, I got both me and my sister up on a server so we could play, we got our modded Dungeon Siege going AND we have our netflix. Yes, we were playing over the same router, which was probably the source of our problem. But getting us in the online game, THEN resetting the modem and router got it all working.
please state the model of your modem and router as some routers and modems are known to have problems with handling data packets from games.
the most common symptom of the networking equipment not being able to handle the traffic is dns failures like u described. other symptoms include intermittent connectivity to the internet for various networking apps; being able to connect to a lan pc but not to the wan among other things.
