About mods for DS2 and the Expansion

Will/Do mods for vanilla Dungeon Siege II work in the Broken World expansion? Like the unlock npc hairs mod? :? :?:

Sorry if it has been asked before or it's a noob question...

Firstly, welcome to SiegeTheDay! Laughing out loud

I haven't gotten into playing BW with mods yet, but I think the general answer is that some mods will work, and some won't. The quickest way to find out if something will work is trying it (making backups of your save games might be a good idea first...). Smile

...and the expansion has only recently been released, so we're all newbie's as far as BW goes. :P

I kinda question the full compatibility of mods with Broken World. I've been making a few personal mods, tweaking around and stuff, and I find some minor glitches (jittery and invisible textures for example). I went in to do some more tests on a new Chicken World II release, and on Broken World, Eva's armour was disappearing and reappearing constantly, as was the body of the half-giant blacksmith. I had also noticed that the arms on my main character were kinda jerky. For all I know it may just be the map, but I noticed that the glitches only occured in Broken World, but didn't occur in DS2. There was also a point where Broken World crashed after I managed to kill Norrick (I added him to the mod). It never crashed in DS2, and everything went fine from what I could tell. Then I found a small syntax error in the *.gas and fixed the crash for Broken World.

Down to the point, Broken World is mod-compatible, but it may take some work to get it to handle modifications and add-ons a little bit better. DS2 is more friendly, so I suggest you keep testing your stuff on DS2 before you decide to go and do a ton of stuff on Broke World.

The Extra hair mod should work in BW, at least is has so far for me.

I am currently working on a BW version of Extra hair that adds some more hair from BW in addition to the ones from DS2, and some of my own making as well.
