Since interest revived recently, I put the beta together for a playable Succubus Queen mod for Abstraction. Download it at http://dslcv1-458.fast.net/DS/download/sqplayable.zip Since this includes some Abstraction files (modified to add her) it won't be compatible with other mods and maps. forums: |

I tested her out yesterday and I like what I see. However she could make use of some improvements so here are may suggestions:
Rename her "Succubus" to show that this isn't actually the queen, this a succubus, not the queen, considering the humble beginnings of a new character. Reduce here size to be more inline with a normal characters, this due to her being a succubus, not the queen. This would also make spellcasting easier, trying to hit those insane wolfs with fireshot using such a large character isn't fun, it's almost impossible to hit them until they are at her feets and then they hit really hard.
Make a standalone mod for her that make her playable outside DSabstraction and make this on selectable in singleplayer as well.
I suspect you haven't played the SP game and met the SQ and her minions as monsters yet. The playable character in Abstraction uses the Succubus Queen's mesh, not that of the succubi, and her scale is the same as the mob boss. The regular succubi are farmgirl-sized mages, but the Queen is the big one with the huge sword.
There is a playable SP character (for all games except Abstraction) - also downloadable at my site. You can't use her in Abstraction SP as that restricts you to just the blue elves. The scale was kept the same here, mainly because she walks, rather than runs, so she needs the long legs to keep up, but also because I didn't want her to be too much like a farmgirl with wings. I'm also playing with modifying her stats to bias her to slower two-handed weapons, and maybe away from magic, too, giving her strength to match her size, and less int/dex (with corresponding changed rates of increase). This does go against the game's general "build them the way you use them" philosophy, but I don't think that's harmed too much by having some innate character traits to build on.

I recently returned to playing DS and to play throu a sigelet like Abstraction has to wait until I can put a lot of time in it. I have tried it a little thou and found it to be one of those sieglets where a starting character have a really tuff time. THis mean that a lot of paticence are needed for the first couple of levels.
I've had the first three wolves kill the elf a couple of times, especially if they all attacked at once.
In early alphas, you started without any equipment and were forced to use bare hands until you could get something from a chest or barrel, so it's actually much easier now! Potions drop more frequently now, and there's armor you can use in a chest half-way down to Crossroads.
You'll always have problem fighting your way through the Outcast to Crossroads, as they are spawned with stats based on your own, and there are a lot of them! However, you'll find they're slow enough to run past, and once you've re-equipped with the best stuff you can use, then you can go back out and handle them (cautiously). The power mob skrit was used for a number of the mobs, so you get a decent resistance when you travel back through the same area again.
