To simplify, What do the users here do?

Yes, What do you users do considering DS_LoA in 2021?

1) Playing the offline journey and completing it over and over??
2) Modding, changing, creating stuffs??
3) Playing with friends in LAN mode with everybody in the same place???
4) Or playin with friends in IP Internet mode (NOT sayin Microsoft's Zonematch!)??

Talking about Multiplayer, does anyone here has completed the journey of it before???

I for one have been playing DS1 and DSLoA since it was released. I have played almost every map made for DS1 DSLoA DS2 and Broken World. I have created several mods, Made Custom Weapons and Armor. I have played multi-player games but not much anymore. I have been a dungeon siege junky for 19 years. Smile Many of the other people on the site have been around just as long. There are many new people also creating new maps, mods, modding tools.

I'm currently making a map Smile https://siegetheday.org/?q=node/7242
Project should be finished in summer.

I don't know how to create, modify or delete anything... =/

But one thing I know: To make work the Multiplayer through direct IP address!

I haven't seen any tutorial here in the site teaching how to play Online without any third apps (like Hamachi, Zerotie, etc).

So, that will be my legacy for the community (Siegetheday). I'll create a tutorial for this.

Imagine a few active users from here playing the multiplayer journey... It could be interesting.

A tutorial here on the site teaching how to play Online without any third party apps (like Hamachi, Zerotie, etc). Would be a very nice legacy.
Please do so mirroreduser. I for one would like to know how.

When we open the game then click on Multiplayer, we see 3 options:

1. LAN
2. Zone Match
3. IP Address

Third option is the one that we want.

Wish that DSII had this option too... =/

Last year (2020) in the beginning of the world pandemic we're living, the recommendations were “stay at home”, “avoid crowds”, “forget about girls... LoL”, etc.

Knowing that, Me, my cousin and three friends decide: “Hey let’s play an online game from the old school style”. Right Away my cousin suggested ‘Dungeon Siege’. Ok...

Everybody downloaded the game and installed. We tried to play using two VPN apps: Zero Tier and Game Ranger, in LAN mode. We were about 5 players playing the Multiplayer Journey. It really was very cool and fun.

First we used Zero Tier, but it was lagging a lot. Then we tried with Game Ranger. It got better, but it wasn’t enough. Even with Game Ranger sometimes we were experiencing too much lag. I still don’t know how we were playing with such a lag.

In other day we told ourselves: “That’s it! It’s impossible to play like this. Forget about this game, let’s find another one”. But me... I thought: “Dude, there must be a way to play this game directly, without VPN apps”.

I knew that it exists three modes to play the Multiplayer Mode and the third one it’s by Direct IP Address. The principle I already knew too. By the way it’s the same for creating servers for Counter-Strike 1.6.

I just had to find which Port and Protocol (UDP/TCP or both) does DS_LOA uses and make some managements in my Router. And how did I find the right port number and protocol???

It was ahead of us for all these years: I opened DS_LOA Default Folder of installation and there was a file named ‘Readme’. In this file I found the information I wanted:

- ‘Topic J. Connectivity Issues’, page 29-30.

Then I made the necessary management in my Router and guess What???

It did work very nice and smooth comparing to using VPN apps out there.

The script of the tutorial it’s already done, but I have to make some corrections in the writing (I’m Brazilian) and some prints screen of each step.

Here's an photo representing a Multiplayer Game by IP Address made by myself this night. It took me hours to make it work. The notebook in right is the server and it's conncected to my internet. The notebook from the left it's conected to my neighbour wifi. I'm not living in the same state/city from last year.So my Internet Service Provider (ISP) is from other company. My intention was to public the tutorial last night. But I discovered that I need to add more info to the tutorial and also make more tests, including with different windows versions.

If you can check windows xp and windows 7.

Last night I've tested in two Windows 10 LTSB systems, but I'm pretty sure that will work on WIN.XP and W7 too. However, challenge here was that I've noticed that the factor of I'm using a different ISP changed one thing from before. So until I discover that, it took me hours! Normally, to make it work by IP Address is very quickly.

Now I have to add that information to the tutorial.

I'll keep you in touch.

Just tested the Online IP Connection on Windows XP, 7, 8.1 and 10 and good news: Working on them all.

All right now... Check it out:

I hope it works for you too, pals.
