SN being hacked!

Yup.. Witness was set as banned, and sjr's account got deleted.
Good thing there are more admins over there.. I sense an endtime approaching.. Unless the person with azunite blood returns to prevent it.

Well, is there nothing that people can do against it?

It probably has since this person has access to the entire forumpart of the site.
Witness or Digital can fix this.. myself I don't have access to the db..

Seems like the whole ordeal will be taken care of.
We just need to have a little patience.

Are the SN admins\mods still in contact with either of them though? I was under the impression that witness had given up on the site entirely, but had paid for a year of hosting or so and as such was just waiting for her contract to expire or something.....

I guess the hacker has already been IP banned from THIS site?

What abot Razorfish? He is admin on SN too, isn't he?

Am I the only one that is not impressed by the hacking of siege network?
PHP is known to have security issues, so I'm not impressed at all...

The forum software hasn't been updated for years so there are lots of known vulnerabilities. About Witness, yes she is still somewhat around but there is an impersonator as well.

There is a likely fix in the works. I have seen it with my own peepers.

The whole situation got me very upset. Sjr got a hold of Witness, I heard. Let's hope things get up and running.

Well, it is 10:00pm (est) Monday, March 20, 2006 and this was posted on SN as spposedly Witness's announcement.this is not what was there a week ago so I must infer it is the work of some puerile mind....

I cannot do anything about the main page as one needs to have site admin control to access that part. My account has also been deleted (again). I have just sent an email to Witness that I know she will get.

I am guessing the person(s) doing this is someone known at SN or in the DS community but are some kind of coward that is mad about something in the past. I do have ideas who it could be. So I am guessing they would have someone else do the hacking as they dont have the l33t skilllzz to do it themselves. Or whatever the I just said.

Well, if somebody was that upset at SN being closed or about some other isssue than this is not the way to deal with it. I am a little nervous about downloading any files from there now. I don't know how this hacking nonsense works, but I am afraid files may have been compromised or whatever. Hmmm, Q& A time...If SN is bing hacked and people's accounts are being deleted, is it still safe to download stuff from there?

It appears chuckles the clown is back and keeping busy. I went to the forums just now and it said I was banned, my ip was banned that is, well that is nothing to get around, I just changed ip and got into the forums. I posted a reply to someone's question and then when I went to view Todays active topics it said one had to be registered to view the site. So I was just going to create a dummy account to see what was up and of course new registrations were not allowed. I hope chuckles is having fun since I do know that the raindeer games wont work as well when some things are changed.

Hmmm, reading sjr's post re: chuckles the clown and remembering my post from the other day...(edit: 10:43 pm EST tuesday, I can't get into the forums either and was just there 2 days ago, viewing them.)

Although I have a somewhat "bawdy" sense of humor I don't typically use vulgar language, like the kind that I censored above. But isn't this person doing the hacking the REAL "p###y" ?? To me, this hacker is doing nothing more than any other brat does; engaging in petulant, immature "oh, look at me!" foolishness.

Yeah... probably some infantile jerk trying to get a reaction by destroying the work of others. I wonder if this continuing abuse is going to be the straw that breaks the back of SN... I hope not.

Interesting.Thank you for quoting my signature...You don't make it clear what you are commenting on, perhaps I am to infer you mean my earlier remarks? In that case.... in the context of "hacking" , the word "injury" can be used to mean "inconvenience" or "annoyance"...at any rate, the "injury" wasn't done to me as an individual, per se. I feel whoever has done this has affected the DS community,of which I am a part. I made my remarks because I think it is unjust for ANY individual to engage in the type of spiteful behavior typified by the person hacking SN. It is unfair to the "author" of the site and it is unfair to the people who wish to use and enjoy the site. I am not angered by this as an individual, I am angered because it has hurt other members of this community.
