It is about time we start collecting questions for the Broken World dev chat that will be held in the near future.

Rules are simple:

Don't discuss in this thread, only use it for posting your questions.
Please use this thread for discussing Broken World.
Also, you should make sure it wasn't already covered in the earlier chat.

These questions will be sent in when it is time for the chat to be held.

OK, I'll start things off with my top two:

Will it be easier to use mods with the expansion?

What can you tell us about modding the expansion (like will modders be able to use the new lip synching feature...)?

Has the crc been improved?

Will the Broken World retail exe have modding support such as custom dlls?

Will GPG give more to the community on the level of modding, as they did with DS1?

Will there be efforts to fix more bugs, not just leaving gamers high and dry?

Will the expansion ship with a patch for the currently unfixed game bugs still in vanilla DS2?

Will spells have hotkeys?

What improvements have been made for managing your party?

What's changed about the MP front end (eg. will there be direct IP-IP connections...)?

Will we have modding support for the expansion pack's retail exe with dll support?

Will we have less save game corruptions with the expansion pack?

Will the xpack fix corrupted saves when they occur?

Will we have a new siege editer for the xpack?

Can we expect GPG modding support, since GPG memembers will not be busy with the xpack?

Ds2 did not see patches after version 2.2 when they were needed, Will the xpack have support for patches when needed?

What is going to be done about the mod usability problems in the xpack that we see in ds2.

Will there be changes to the save game interface in the expansion (i.e. the ability to maintain more than one save per hero / party...)?

Is it too late to suggest a "CRC=false" or "forceCRC=..." target line switch for the retail game? Smile

Just as a sidenote... we'll probably have another chat soon. This one likely won't be with GameSpy (not that the last one went poorly... we just want to spread it out a bit) and will likely be more accessible to those not in North America. That's my goal, at least... just tough to pull devs away from work in the middle of the day Smile

Since we now have information that the crc problem is not going to be resolved, I think a feature to fix characters would be something gpg should include in the upcomming xpack. So i'm wondering if there will be a feature in the xpack to fix corrupted characters.

Edit: I already posted this but want to stress this, since it is a huge concern of mine. On a side note it is nice to see you posting on STD Tom Smile .

Will there be less swarming of scores of enemys? :roll:
(really, if i wanted to have swarms of enemys, i would play Serious Sam) :P

Will there be any progressive items in the expansion (eg. armor that gets better as the character levels, weapons that do more damage as the character gets stronger...)?

BW will make it possible to "dual-class". Will this be something you need to start a new character for, or will it be feasible to add new skills to an existing character you have run through the original game? I.e you have your level 39/40 character with skills in one half, can you now add the other half in Act IV?
