Earthen Embrace Glitch

I'm using the Steam version of DS2 with the Steam fix. I recently found out that it has nothing to do with mods as it does the same thing in every map without mods activated.

Beforehand I believe I had experienced this on the retail version of DS2 but only with mods. When I deactivated certain ones (I can't remember which), it showed the rocks floating around the hero's side mid-way like they should be.
I'm kind of thinking now that it may be a possibility that this is a glitch with 2.3 in general. However, it might also be a texture issue specific to Steam.

Could someone try to replicate this glitch for me? Preferably on the retail version? Screenshots are welcome. I just want to know what's going on so I might know where to look to fix this. (Yes, I'm pretty OCD lol).
