I finally finished DS2BW in Merc (only took me about a month to start a new game in DS2, play through that, and convert my character and party to DS2BW and play through that). I find myself wanting more. So it's off to DS2 in Vet, but before I do that, does anyone know if the NPCs from DS2BW will still be in the inn when I get to DS2 Vet? And I saw something about DS2BW updating DS2 to 2.30, if you haven't already insalled the 2.20 patch. Does that mean that I need to uninstall DS2 and then reinstall it without the 2.20 patch in order to play DS2 using the BW disk and content? But I also need to get back to my playtesting of Abstraction before I go into DS2 Veteran, if I can work out why I haven't been able to start a game in Abstraction lately. However, before I do anything else, I am going to bed. Ciao. |

Your version of DS2 is unchanged upon the installation of BW (different directory), so it's actually BW that is v2.3... To continue into Vet, use the BW exe and choose the DS2 map when starting up a new game. Your Inn characters should be there waiting to go into battle with you once again.
PS. It's a little weird having Amren in your party during the opening Vet. NIS... (him in the jail cell with you and his doppleganger outside chatting with Celia about you).

Thanks, Sharkull. Cool, so I can play DS2 in Veteran with Yoren in my party. He's the coolest little dude with his little winged helmet on, isn't he? But ... I took his winged helmet for my Dryad character when he finally found one with an AR that was sufficiently better to make up for the aesthetic loss of giving up the winged helmet, and he's now wearing a ram-head helmet (he's still a cool-looking little dude, and the ram-head helmet is cool, too).
P.S. After thinking about it, I believe it was more like a month and a half that it took me to go from the beginning of DS2 to the end of DS2BW in Mercenary with all Primary and Secondary Quests, including the Mysterious Mystery Quest in DS2 and a visit to Pineapples Island (via Elys' Succubus modlet) in BW. I didn't find all the books, but only a few are missing (I think they're all reagent recipes, and that one Dwarven book that seems to be absent due to some sort of glitch), and will hopefully turn up next time around.
