No mods from you for Ultima 6?

Or mods for Ultima V Lazarus compatible with the game Ultima VI Project 1.1?

I would like to mod for Ultima 6...
but every time I play it the game slows down.
It slows down so much that it is unplayable.
I get to 20% game play and the game crawls very slow.
I'm not the only one who has complained about that either.
What they have done with the DS engine is wonderful.
But they also seemed to have messed something up in the process.
