Remove special effects?

I love mods which disable FX from weapons, hate to be running as a Christmas tree, lol.

Is there a way to disable all weapons and armors special effects, from preferences, editing the .ini, or mods?

Question for DS1, but DS2 too, which probably will play soon.

You have pretty much answered your own question...yes...u can mod it by editing all the weapon and armor templates... maybe someone has turned them all off in past i dont know.

So the only way is with a mod, I didn't found one, although, many mods hasn't obvious names, if someone knows such mod, please tell me.

Vamrem, I think if any one was making a mod for DS1 or 2 they would be putting FX on the armour and weapons and not taking them off it, I have not come across a mod that removes FX and I very much doubt anyone has ever made one either so if you want one that does that I think you're going to have to make it yourself.

Oh... I can't believe it doesn't exists such mod (and fascinated about people loving those unnatural lightnings constantly on their characters, lol). I'm modder since games so different as Baldur's Gate, Titan Quest or Elder Scrolls, probably I start with this favorite of my childhood. 18 years after, maybe never too late haha.

As I understand, it would be as easy as type the affix and "find-change" in text. Or may be necessary to edit item by item? And how many items would have FX in that case? (An estimation, like "less than 1,000, or more than 10,000! lol)

looking at sword templates i didnt see any effects so its either controlled by the pcontent or not sure really, the modifiers must create the effects...imagine an old dull sword dont have any effects...do you not nice iceswords either?
