In the mines there are a couple elevators down (and one up-only), and the dwarf brother is down there. IIRC you have to blow up a wall to get where he is though (just shoot the red exploding barrels with a ranged attack).
Posting in your blog is fine. You can however also post in the DS1 & LoA Gameplay Discussion part of the forums as well. There used to be more posts but we lost them due to some nasty events with previous webpage hosts.

Thanks Terry. It took awhile to find some place that still plays or recognizes this game. I have had it for a while and started playing it but my PC did not have a very good Graphics card and so everything was transparent ( bushes, trees, etc. ) so I stopped using it. Now that I have a state of the art PC things look a lot nicer.
BTW, I did find him and completed the quest and mow on to chapter 3.
I know this may be a stupid question but how the hell do you cast a Resurrect spell.
I have 3 mage in the bunch and I cannot raise the dead with any of them. I have looked in the manual and it says nothing on how it's done. I have Clicked on it and then clicked on the dead,, I have taken the spell out and tried to lay it on the dead guy. I have done basically all the things that are done in other games. How do you do it ?????
put the resurrect spell in one of the top active spell slots, and click on it to make it the default spell, then take mouse over to the fallen heroes portrait icon and the pointer should turn blue or something like that while over them and right click i think is how i do it, not sure about the mouse button though could be left, but it works well when using the portrait icon. im winging this from memory and not in game, so take this with a gram of salt or whatever the saying is. maybe someone else can confirm this for us.
That sounds right to me... and if right-clicking doesn't work, I believe that you can force cast spells by using the "c" key (after aiming with the mouse).

First of all, where is the "Disband party member button" as explained in the manual. It says "Click on the portrait and click the DPMB" The problem is they don't say where it is.
I have a dead guy in my party. He's not worth wasting more resurrect spells and I want to go back and pick up the other Mage at the "Ice palace ?".
How can you get rid of the Tomb stone in your party line up ?.
The other tip you guys gave me worked great. Thanks
I have a dead guy ( tomb stone ) and I do not want to waist anymore resurrect spells on him. I have gone back to pick up my other Mage I left at the "Ice Palace ?". It says in the manual to Click on the Chararters frame and then click the "Disband party member button".
The problem is they don't say where it is. I have used right and left mouse buttons and no table comes up to do the Dismissing. There is no command for disbanning members in the manual.
The tip you guys gave me last time worked great, Thanks.
I didn't dig out my CD to verify, but I believe the button you're looking for is in the bottom right corner of the screen (where all the party controls are). Be sure to resurrect him before disbanding because otherwise he'll be gone for good (this allows you to change your mind later...).
About resurrecting with scrolls, just level a mage (NM or CM) until you can resurrect with a spell (not a scroll). Then all you use is mana...
All I have in the Lower Right hand corner it the marching order and how they respond to a fight. I do not see a Disband button. Can I buy a resurrect Spell ?. I have two more left and then there gone.
I just checked and the disband button is just above the 3x3 grid of party control buttons, beside the "Select all party members" button. There is a "Resurrect" spell for NM (lvl 4+) and a "Revive" spell for CM (lvl 5+).
I'm now in the "Dark Forest". Not sure where this will take me but I hope they aren't as annoying as those "Nasty Crystals" or those green catfish/carp in the cave. Stopped by the Gypsy camp and sold a lot of stuff and bought a few things ( like life Blood ). Of course then I run into the High expensive Archery Babe on the outskirts of town. I guess I'll have to wing it with the one I have for now.
I have been up and down the Crystal Caves and in a out of the Dark Forest.
Where is this Fort Kroth?. In what Direction do I travel in the Caves to reach the Fort. West or East ?. At this point I'm not sure where I am.
Is it before or after JHriahs Trading post ?.
If anyone has played this game or remembers where all this stuff is.
In the Single player map, you don't get the option of wandering too far off the linear path through the game, so you just need to make sure that you're not backtracking and you'll cover all the ground. You can still do a few small loops within some areas, but if you look for unrevealed parts on the mini-map you can find the way out from anywhere.
The path through the caves winds around a bit, so telling you one direction to go doesn't help. There's also a few branches off the main path that are dead-ends but provide secondary rewards for the explorer. You can easily get turned around by these and end up going back the way you came in. Use the mini-map to make sure you explored it all, and you should find the other exit you need.
The caves don't emerge directly at Fortress Kroth either, there's a bit more ground to cover after you get out of the caves.
OK, I will continue. But your correct. It does turn you around and that's where I'm at now. I'm not sure where I'm at. I need to find a land site and key off of that. I don't want to head all the way back to the enterance of the caves and start all over again. There is a Sign in the road half way in the caves ( I assume ). One points to Dark Forest and the other to J'hards trading post. Is the Fort closest to Dark Forest or the other ?.
My hazy recollection tells me you haven't been to Jeriah's trading post yet, and it will be right after you emerge from the caves. So head that way if you find a signpost. I think there's more than one signpost, so the one you found is probably not halfway.
Looking at a walk-through (my memory isn't good enough to remember such details), Jeriah's Trading Post is before the Dark Forest... (and Fortress Kroth is well past the swamp, which is beyond the Dark Forest).
So lets recap here for a second. It's Dark Forest, then Jariah(?) trading post then the Cave of Crystals, then the huge Swamp and then Fort Kroth. Is that how it goes ?. I've been in the swamp before for a long time ( if that is the one). It's tough finding your way out of there. I get lost in a Clothies closet.
Jeriah's Trading Post
Path to Subterranean River
Subterranean River
Dark Forest
Travelers' Camp
Path to Eastern Swamp/Bandit's Cave
Eastern Swamp
Potions Shop
Eastern Swamp
Goblin Mines
Bonepicker's Post
Path to Temple Ruins
Temple Ruins
Path to Fortress Kroth
Fortress Kroth
And there is an easy way out of the swamp... the exit cave is only the only island that touches the perimeter of the map (the only other place to touch the perimeter is the entrance).
OK, I have just left the caves and went to Jeriahs trading post ( old coot )
I guess this the right direction. I got turned around and thought I was going to the caves instead of away from them.
Thanks Mr. Goodkind ( sounds like a Bond character ) : >)

Yes, welcome to the site nippaditty. :welcome:
You're welcome, but my name isn't Terry... He is the author of the quote in my signature.
There are a few people who still visit here, most of whom have logged hundreds of hours playing the DS games (and / or created mods for them).
Oh, and remember to log in when you post, because your comment wasn't published until approved.

Ok, thanks, I found it. I had the marching order screen turned off.
Now I see where it is. Thanks again.

You're very welcome... and choosing how to fill out your party is one of the interesting things about DS1.
- she's worth returning for, when you have enough gold..
- I'm in Lands Of Utrae at the moment - great DS1 mod..!! :woot:
Once again I'm back for help
I have been up and down the Crystal Caves and in a out of the Dark Forest.

To add to what ghastley said, it is impossible to miss Fortress Kroth. If you keep progressing through the map you will run into it eventually.

You're welcome, but once again my name is not Terry Goodkind. He is my favorite author, having written the quotes in my signature (coloured in blue).
So you want me to call you Mr.Sharkull ?. Ok, it's done.
In any case thanks for the help.
( It still sounds like a Bond Character, doesn't it ? )
No worries (and just Sharkull or is fine).
Yes, "Goodkind" does kind of sound like a 007 movie character... but I'm pretty sure it is his real name.
