This stinks

The Official Links for Broken World takes you to Dungeon Siege 3 and the remaining links to Dungeon Siege, Legends of Aranna, Dungeon Siege 2, Gas Powered Garage, Gas Powered Games are Dead. I will have to upload the patches for the games here. I think we need to open a section here for official things that should not be lost. Should you have important modding tips or tips for playing the game be sure to post it in the correct forum here before your computer crashes or you crash and burn, so the game does not die like the official sites seem to have. I also found that currently you can not download any of the DS1 patches as the links are dead. I have dungeonsiegeupdate1.0-1.11.1462_english.exe patch which I will upload here in the next few days. I will also upload the DS2 Patch. However I do not have any of the DS1 patch files in the other languages. So if you have them let me know and we will figure out a way to transfer them here.

Gamefront has official DS1 patches for the above in German, Italian, Spanish and Mac (I suppose you can think of another operating system as a different language).
http://www.gamefront.com/files/listing/pub2/Dungeon_Siege/Official_Patches/

In fact Gamefront has a large assortment of Dungeon Siege material and http://www.gamefront.com/files/listing/pub2/Dungeon_Siege/ could very well be added as an official link to the sidebar here.

Sadly their Dungeon Siege 2 is very much lacking in comparison.

Thank you Iryan, I will ask sol77 to add them to the offical links and remove the broken ones.

You mean here at Siegetheday? The answer is no.

The Gamefront link has Return to Arhok but no Yesterhaven.

I also forgot to mention Gamefront has a Legends of Aranna section with LOA specific maps and mods. Return to Arhok is also located there as well.

Some official places to download Yesterhaven is Moddb.com http://www.moddb.com/games/dungeon-siege/downloads/bonus-pack-yesterhaven and the Internet Archive Software Collection http://archive.org/details/DungeonSiegeYesterhaven
Fileplanet has Yesterhaven as well as many Dungeon Siege mods but is in the process of being archived so I don't even know if anything can be downloaded from there once that's finished.

Strange that Microsoft closed the LoA site, hopefully it comes back soon...
However, the LoA Demo and Return to Arhok still are available there:

Yesterhaven, here possibly too (seems to take a little eternaty until the download starts):

nice work

Wow, it feels like they completely left us hanging.

I'll set up an area for game patches when I find the time to figure out how to do it. X-O.

I was looking around for the various patches for DS1 and did a search on the different languages the game was released in and wow the DS1 Microsoft site was there and working!!!
http://www.microsoft.com/games/dungeonsiege/8.aspx

So all the time spent today finding downloading and then moving the DS1 patches to my storage area on Techiem2's servers may have been waisted. But then a backup of the files in more than one location is the best idea.

The sites for Gas Powered Games are still gone and so is the DS2 Site.

I will upload the DS2 Patch Files tomorrow so maybe that site will return as well :P

left hanging? well, i actually kind of expected that as i saw the signs before that gpg is going to close down into insolvency.

i strongly suggest digging deep thru the net to salvage any official downloads and information that is ds related as gpg is quite likely going into liquidation soon. so its all hands abandon ship time! save all u can, lads and lasses!

so, much thanks to elfy for salvaging anything ds related. Elf

That's old news that they were goggled up by Wargaming Net and renamed Wargaming Seattle. Happened about 7 months ago. At least most of the staff retained employment and many of the ones let go have been rehired and they are still hiring this month.

The price paid was of course losing the Gas Powered Games name and losing independence on what they create but since GPG strengths were in RTS games anyhow and Wargaming Net owns the Total Annihilation brand, it probably was a good fit for both sides.

So don't expect anything other than RTS games from them now and with the rights to Dungeon Siege owned by Square-Enix, don't expect any Dungeon Siege branded games to be any different from DS III and certainly don't expect any modding support (no you'll have to pay for DLC).

Gas powered games should never have died... How is it that this even happened? I thought companies that produced good games stayed alive? If people love Diablo II even today so long after it's release, Dungeon siege should have gotten all that and, hell, even more! I'm glad that those here at siegetheday are scrounging up what Official downloads we can. If it helps, I think I still might have Yesterhaven and Arhok on my old computer. I might even have the extra downloads like the fan site kit, but I'm not sure.

I'm all for keeping these games supported and have them grow and become better and better. I wonder if one could start a petition to have the source code released etc. or something else well. all those in favor chime in see if we can grow here as well.
