This mod allows players the opportunity to play Kingdom of Ehb, Utraean Peninsula, Legends of Aranna and Yesterhaven from the original Dungeon Siege in Dungeon Siege 2 and it's expansion, with all the benefits that provides. Think of it as more of a remastered version of the original Dungeon Siege than a mere port to a newer engine.

The mod is based on Killergremal's original work on the Utraean Peninsula, Kingdom of Ehb and Yesterhaven, found at this thread; https://siegetheday.org/?q=node/1330

Elys All*Saves or Elys' Succubus Manager is recommended to play the mod, which most users of this site probably already use. However either use v1 of All*Saves or turn off the seefar option in the launcher as the mod incorporates seefar moods directly in the maps for better balance without the glitches and distortions caused by using a too high a level of seefar in the launcher. Version 1 of Elys All*Saves is distributed in the installer version in original DS2 (v2.2), Broken World (v2.3) and Steam versions.

Hi Iryan
Back to Kingdom of Ehb.
I checked out everything that I was having problems with before I replaced my computer. All the weirdness with auras and such have corrected themselves. So I started in the Traveler Camp and walked to the edge of the eastern marsh. Recieved the quest to purify the temple.
After reaching the temple, I killed everything in the grave yard around the temple and within the temple however the purify the temple quest did not complete, I then touched everything within the temple. At this point I am not sure if I am missing a quest item that would allow me to purify the temple, as was required when playing DS1. (you had to put a quest item on the alter to purify the temple.) I am not doing something correctly, the quest is broken or it is just in my mind or the mind of my new computer.

Actually I simplified that quest because at the time I didn't understand flick very well. The way it's suppose to finish now is that you only have to kill the boss zombie ( Wretched Zombie) in the temple to get it to finish.

Now it has been working in previous versions of the mod but not now for some reason. Looking at the templates it appears that the link to the questbits finishing the quest has been broken. I assume that the mass spawning of zombies resulting from killing the boss didn't occur either.

I'll fix it asap and instead of tying it to the boss as before, I'll revert it to the way it was - i.e. just touching the altar. You should actually be carrying the quest item in your journal so all I have to do is make a trigger to detect that. The trigger will complete the quest and make visible an invisible ankh or whatever it is. I'll see also if I can make some pretty rays of light and maybe a sound event as well.

I'll try to make a fix tonight for it so if you have a save before the temple you can try it out.

kill the boss and the zombies pop up all over the grave yard. yes it did work before. I do have a save prior to this point. when it did not work I did not save. So just need to start over in the traveler camp and walk to the marsh.

I've fixed the glitch with the Lava Cavern Textures. They were the textures that had dynamically superimposed textures over them to make the lava seams glow. The dds format I'm using obviously doesn't allow that so the dynamic texture is painted over the wall texture instead.

So I had to remove the enhanced wall textures for the lava cavern. If I understood more how this effect was implemented maybe I could fix the enhanced textures but removing them doesn't cause that much of an impact - at least looking at it through the editor.

So once the other two issues are fixed I'll release a small patch to fix these 3 issues. Thanks once again for the feedback.

Iryan, you mentioned the "mass spawning of zombies resulting from killing the boss". I've always thought the mass spawning results from crossing a trigger point or area of ground outside the temple on your way to the boss. Or maybe from the boss spotting you. Whichever it is, a scout can arouse them so the party can finish them off before going on to kill the boss.

The patch for the temple quest and the citadel of ash. Still the same problems but the area around the citadel of ash has a major lava leak now. paths bridges covered with lava different color kind of pinkish and you can walk on it.

Yes you're correct. I said that before going and checking the templates. The trigger point is just inside the temple.

Yes I know about this as it was mentioned by Marco. As I said a post or two ago I have fixed it but haven't released any sort of patch yet as I want to fix these other two issues at the same time.

You can easily fix it yourself if it bothers you. Just untank DS1_Mod_Terrain_Beta_14.ds2res and find art\bitmaps\terrain\lava_caverns (I think as I'm posting this from work). Just delete the walls folder and everything will be normal again. The slight degradation of textures aren't really noticeable in that type of underground region.

Here's a patch that should fix the three issues recently mentioned. I've tested it and it works for me. Just place it into the resources folder where you installed the mod.

http://www.siegetheday.org/~iryan/files/DS1_Patch_KOE_YEHA_Map_2014_01_14.ds2res (5.3 Mb)

The Purify Temple quest now works like the original. Just touch the altar for the quest to complete. I do plan on adding some lights and sounds and a different artefact (to match the one in the journal) but ran out of time today.

For the Citadel of Ash I simply restored the original values.

For the lava textures I simply copied the textures from DS2 and gave them a higher priority.

Iryan, The patch works great. The quest in ehb now completes. The Lava overflows in Yesterhaven are gone and best of all is the Citadel of Ash now has all three floors visible and that was not true even in the original DS1 Map. A very nice citadel once you get to see all of it.

I would be very interested to hear how it goes online playing coop. You would presumably need exactly the same setup to avoid problems. So could you please let me know how it goes.

Hi Iryan,
Think I may have found another quest that is not completing on the EHB map. I killed the pirates and got to where the star is on the beach, see radar but no quest completion or advancement.

I looked about for any hidden pirates and could not find any
do I need to talk to the two guys from the fortress again?

To finish this quest you only need to kill the Pirate Captain mini boss. It should complete.

So something is wrong with it so I'll check it asap.

could you please post a step-by-step installation guide
including any patch/update requirements and compatibility settings for Windows7

I have installed the Mod v14 with the Elys' Allsaves that comes with it
but I keep getting a "Wrong Version" error message..

Hi Blondin235
Step 1. Make sure that Dungeon Siege 1 has been patched to version 1.11.1462 (patch can be found in download area)
Step 2. Make sure that Dungeon Siege 2 has been patched to version 2.2
Step 3. If you had to apply the patch to DS1 go to your DS2 resources directory and remove all the files prefixed with DS1 and then reinstall the Legendary Map Pack. If you did not have to patch DS1 you should be good to go.
Step 4. If you had to apply the patch for DS2 to version 2.2 you will not need to make any changes and you should not have to reinstall anything.
Step 5. You will have to run DS2 as administrator for it to function in Windows 7. That can be done by right clicking the Elys allsaves desk top icon. Go to compatibility and check the box for administrator. Some people have also set compatibility to Windows XP service pack 3. It is debatable as to if this is necessary or not.

The steps above worked for me when I installed everything on my new windows 7 computer a few weeks ago.

Sorry but I can't replicate this bug.

It is the same location as your picture but I can't tell from your pic whether or not the Pirate Captain was there. As I said previously his scalp is the one that completes the quest.

I did not see the pirate captain, being a boss he would have been marked in some fashion right?

Exactly where is the wrong version error message coming from?

You say that the mod has been installed so I assume it's not the installer.

Is it when you try to play the game?

Or is it when you try to install Elys AllSaves?

If it's the latter then most likely you're trying to install the wrong version for the game you have. Use DS2_AllSaves for vanilla Dungeon Siege 2 and DS2BW_AllSaves for Broken World. There has been no changes to the installers at all from the publically available ones. They are packaged with the mod for convenience to save having to track them down through the net.

An alternative to AllSaves is Elys Succubus Manager which you can find here at SiegetheDay in the downloads section.

Iryan,
I ran through the quest again, going back 4 saves and the pirate captain was not there. Even though he exists both in the standard map pack files and the adepts files for area tr_r1. The only difference between the picture you posted and the one I posted is you where playing the map without Adepts and I was playing with Adepts. So the fault could be with adepts. Although I can not see anything wrong with either template for the pirate captain. I will run a standard party up to this point and see what happens.

I've found and squashed the bug. It was specific to DS2 Adepts and not present at all in the Legendary Mod.

Is there a "easy installer" for the DS1 legendary mod at this point ?
I know someone who would be interested by an easy installer (this person is french too and not so good in english, especially for technical matters)!

Yes as long as you have both Dungeon Siege 1 and Legends of Aranna installed on your computer just follow this link and down load the mod. http://www.moddb.com/downloads/dungeon-siege-legendary-mod-beta-14
It should do everything for you. Sorry I do not speak French, however using the Google translator I made a copy of the readme in French. Not sure if it is any good but here is the link. http://siegetheday.org/~bare_elf/files/French_read_me.rtf

The good thing about the installer software I'm using is that it supports other languages. If people with knowledge of other languages are willing to translate the scripts and readme for me I'll insert them into the installer. They will also have to be willing to help test the finished product before public release to make sure everything is being displayed properly.

The way that it will work is that there'll be a dialog box that will open when the installer is run. The user selects their language from the dialog box and then everything from then on will be displayed in the user's language. The default will be English.

In the meantime feel free to translate the readme into whatever language you want.

I have done the following:
1. DS1 and DS/LOA are already installed on my PC
2. I installed DS2 and patched to version 2.2 and set it to "Run as Administrator"
3. Installed Elys' AllSaves Succubus Manager and set it to "Run as Administrator"
4. Installed the Legendary Mod v14 and checked that no DS1 prefixed files are present
5 Inserted DS2 Disk1 to begin..

PROBLEM: there is no cursor at the intro screen, and can't select any map apart from DS1

I have been playing Yesterhaven and I don't know whether someone already reported it, but Fiathna, the dryad companion in winter stage of Yesterhaven, has got different head colour (yellow) and body colour (green). I dressed her in armor that doesn't show any part of her body because it looked ugly to me.

Hi Blondin,
Did you try to run Dungeon Siege from its regular start icon prior to installing the map pack and the succubus manager? I ask this as I had no problem with the cursor when I installed the games on this computer and I was wondering where I should start look for the problem. Note Iryan did have a mouse/cursor issue with win 8.1

You are correct Lukawh it does look very ugly. Yellow Head and green body. It took me a while to get to it since it does not occur when one is playing with both the Legendary Map Pack and Adepts because the adept's skins are a higher priority. However I started a regular game and yes there she is all colored wrong. Now I am not sure if the body color is wrong or it is something else. Dryad's by default use the skin colors _31 which is green, _32 which is yellow and _33 which is brown. Now if the head color ends in some other number armor would have to be created to support that or all body parts exposed would default to the base dryad color which is _31. I am not sure where the specific images are stored because The Legendary Map Pack is broken into so many files. I will leave this to Iryan.

Hiya, bare_elf :wavey:
No, I didn't click on the DS2 game shortcut - just the Elys' Succubus Manager
- I've just noticed that the cursor doesn't appear in the Ehb Map either

PS. and that's the only map I can access from the start-up screen, at the moment..

Are you able to post a screenshot of your resources folder or list the files and size?

If you are playing with mods, try removing them all including the Legendary Mod so that just the base DS2 files are present in the resources folder and try to run just the base game. Then try adding the Legendary Mod files and see what happens.

As far as I know there should be no problem at all running DS2 in Windows 7. I assume it was running fine before installing the mod? My problem with Win 8.1 was due to buggy NVidia video card driver and not the os. The Win 8.1 NVidia video card drivers are incompatible with DS2. I had to disable the drivers in DS2 and use the Intel video card instead.

Did you actually test DS2 after step 2 above to see that it worked?

As Bare_elf indicated this was a simple error in the naming of the skin- _31 is green skin dryads. So I simply renamed it to _32 and now she has yellow skin all over. No need to keep her covered now.

Thank you for the report. Even little things like this is very much welcomed.
