It's hard to dislike Parfaits, unless you're an ogre. Especially parfaits that lay some claim to being nutritious. Watermelon has lycopene and vitamin C and the Greek yogurt has a good amount of protein. yay!

Shrek: For your information, there's a lot more to ogres than people think.
Donkey: Example?
Shrek: Example? Okay, er... ogres... are... like onions.
Donkey: [sniffs onion] They stink?
Shrek: Yes...NO!
Donkey: Or they make you cry.
Shrek: No!
Donkey: Oh, you leave them out in the sun and they turn brown and start sproutin' little white hairs.
Shrek: NO! LAYERS! Onions have layers. OGRES have layers. Onions have layers... you get it. We both have layers.
Donkey: Oh, you both have layers. [pause] You know, not everybody likes onions. [pause] CAKES! Everybody loves cakes! Cakes have layers!
Shrek: [restraining temper] I don't care... what everyone likes. Ogres. Are not. Like cakes!
Donkey: You know what else everybody likes? Parfaits. Have you ever met a person, you say, "Let's get some parfait," they say, "Heck no, I don't like no parfait"? Parfaits are delicious.
Shrek: NOOO!!! YOU DENSE, IRRITATING, MINIATURE BEAST OF BURDEN! Ogres are like onions! End of story! Bye bye! [whispers] See you later!
[pause]
Donkey: Parfaits may probably be the most delicious thing on the whole dang planet!
Shrek: You know... I think I preferred you humming...
Unless like me, you are Allergic to Yogurt(and Shae nut, and Coconut, and Sour Cream)
No one should be allergic to Sour Cream. How can you eat tacos or baked potatoes without sour cream? What ever you are allergic to in these things. There are plenty of sour cream substitutes out there. It may take a little experimenting to find the one that you really want to stick with. However, these substitutes shouldn't give you much concern in the end. Good luck
sig, wouldn't any type of milk product trigger an allergic reaction?
I feel a little sad for you. I can't imagine not having dairy. Buttermilk w/ potato seems intriguing. I don't get to eat potatoes all that often, but next time we have mashed potatoes I think I will add some buttermilk instead of regular.
It,s not the Dairy it's the specific cultures used to make both Sour Cream and Yogurt. That's why buttermilk is the most common substitute used (as advised by the AMA )
Allergies are weird things. I used to be terribly allergic to scallops years ago and have avoided them ever since. I had an allergy test done just last year and it showed that I did not have an allergy to scallops. I like shellfish but I'm wicked afraid to try eating any.

Sorry, I don't have any watermelon or berries on hand. Just fireworks.
Watermelon.org has a nifty recipe for a Red White and Blue Parfait which may be to the hedgehogs liking.
The Georgia watermelons are now here
Thanks Kathy the Red White and Blue Parfait was very very good. The Elf and 3 Hedgehogs enjoyed them very much.

Buttermilk is the best substitute
