Post count tells you how many posts a person has... but nothing about what is in them. Trolling, SPAM and treating a forum like a chat room can increase post count quite quickly and tells a distinct story about the poster... while friendly posts offering encouragement, assistance or a harmless joke tells a rather different story.
Post quality matters much more to me than quantity... absolutely. Posting for the sole purpose of post count pumping is completely lame (IMO perpetrators should seek professional psychological help).
