Changes to user permissions

Because of problems with spambots who want us to buy more shoes, and what have you, it is now necessary for new members to ask for access if they want to post and edit in the book section or their own blog.

The other option was to make the captcha more difficult but it seems the next level is a bit too hard even for us humans.

I'm really sorry, but until I find the time I can't do much better.

You can sign up for the access in Apply for Book and Blog permissions.

Some of you long timers should have the additional permissions already. If not, give me a holler in the linked thread above.

Good move Sol77 giving the Book and Blog sections permissions. I hope it keeps some if not all of the spam-bots and spam-humans from posting. Cheer Sol77 Cheer

If not I will still Dwarf hunt them down and make them :rip:

Thanks. Here's hoping it will be enough. Otherwise they're all yours. ^^

You guys should know that our moderators are doing a stellar job of keeping things clean here. They swoop down on the spam like hawks, and gobble it up like it was haggis. Yup, they all love themselves some haggis, and they are awesome at getting rid of spam. ^^

Thanks for your hard work in this sad time - spam bots are coming, but Sweden had to go... Sad

I really regret this, Swedish soccer seems to be so passionate, and I would like to have more camera pannings between: Laughing out loud

Yea.. England finally beat us in an official game. And let's not mention Sweden's first game...

Well, at least I can still root for Denmark tonight! (danish parents) ^^
Extra fun game since fiance is German. Laughing out loud

edit: Ohh.. You're rooting for Denmark as well, right? :P

Denmark has played pretty well yesterday, actually i was waiting for the 2:2...
So Germany didn't really convince, and they have to pull their socks up if they want to advance.

Because of the political/financial matters the Greeks are in rage now. They will be unstoppable, and possibly Germany will fall like Troy did! Evil
...and should there be an idiotic referee, they even would get the horse for free. :P

Yea, but now Denmark are out together with Sweden. By default I should root for Germany now, but I don't want to. Smile

This got awfully off topic... Laughing out loud

I approve and give this procedure the official "Seal of the Bald Dude". Smile

Yea for the bald dude. ^^

Words cannot describe my feelings for haggis. Heh. I know this is an old post, but I had to necro it. I blame the haggis.

"Yup, they all love themselves some haggis"
Them's fightin' words! :gangster:

Hmmm. If I did not know better, I would think Sol had been dipping into my pain medication after making such a statement...

Them words might partially have been directed at a certain medicating moderator... mayhaps... ^^

Can I open a blog? I'm working on story edits for the DS1 in DS2 maps and I've got a buncha info it'd be easier to post as a blog than as a forum post. if this isn't a proper use for the blog, I understand.

Yes Araknuum that is a very good place to post what you are working on. In fact there is actually several categories in the menu for peoples blogs one of which is game play. Now I would set you up with a blog but I am only a moderator and not Admin. So you will have to wait for Sol77 to enable the blog function. I will contact him as well.

That would be fantastic news indeed. The AE mod is the reason I got back into modding as I never play DS2 without it. I know people criticize too much automation but then an equal number criticize too much repetitive clicking as found in the Diablo series and its clones.

And the AE as used by LOA was good enough for Final Fantasy XII to copy and extend and it was very well received. If you haven't played that game it uses a system called Gambits which basically was a selectable set of conditions for the auto-engage algorithm to act for about every situation. For example you could have a gambit for healing spells that only AE if say a party member was below 50% health and if there were no gambits ahead of it on the list that took precedent like resurrecting a party member that was dead.

come here and fix this please.
