Blasted Valley 2

Giovanna_del_Arco's picture

Once again, for your viewing pleasure (and to highlight the scenery in "Dungeon Siege II: Broken World" in hopes of encouraging more people to take an interest in the game so as to encourage Chris Taylor and GPG to create a DS3), I present a couple of screenshots from the Blasted Valley. Not only the fall foliage, but also the geology (rock formations, mountains, cliffs, etc) and the lichens help add to the beauty of the area. It's a far cry from the gore in the Familiar Surgeons' lairs. The only places of comparable beauty in part 2 of the game are the little offshoot of the Calennor Wood where you find Celebhel in the small cul-de-sac that still retains the enchantment of the Vai'Lutra Forest from DS2, another place (I think it's the Southern Vai'Lutra Forest) nearby that still retains some of the aesthetics of the Vai'Lutra Forest from DS2, and the small jungle area outside Solanum. I suppose I could include the Calennor Wood itself, but the beauty of that territory is of a different sort, one that includes a sense of the weird rather than a sense of enchantment like the Vai'Lutra Forest in DS2 or pure natural beauty (like the jungles of Greilyn Isle in DS2).

I wish I could consistently capture screenshots without the GUI (neither key cmbo gives consistent results for me), because both of these shots would be larger if I hadn't had to manually remove the GUI by trimming the pictures.
