Snowbrook Haven and Snowbrook Grotto

Giovanna_del_Arco's picture

Here are a couple more shots of my recent vacation in the Snowbrook area. In the attached image, a closeup of the standard used to indicate "Snowbrook Haven" (or so I'm guessing). In the attached file, I think I see carvings on the wall in Snowbrook Grotto. But then who made them? Va'arth? Undead Azunites?

By the way, does anyone else see any similarities between the imagery on the standard and the "carvings" in the ice in the Grotto?

Where are you seeing those carvings in the grotto? Would be cool if they are the same as on the banner. Maybe the Snowbrook folk's culture is heavily influenced by an older culture from the same area..

How old are the Va'arth? And what's their story?

That's in the little dead-end nob at one end of the Grotto. The character is facing one set of carvings, and there is another to her right.

I'm not sure of the antiquity of the Va'arth culture, but the bestiary says:

"Enslaved centuries ago by a long-vanished civilization, the Va'arth vow to never forget their past oppression. Preferring to keep their bonds as a reminder, they use chains of metal to decorate their soldiers, using them as a badge of honor."

Apparently, the Snowbrook area (including the Garden of the Ancients) is the original homeland of the Va'arth, as the Va'arth of the Vai'Lutra Forest are said to have moved there "from their snowier homeland."
