Dungeon Siege II Deluxe Edition!

So I've finally made the decision. Despite it's price, I AM going to get the Dungeon Siege II Deluxe Edition. But not necessarily just for the game itself. I was first introduced to Dungeon Siege when I was around 8 or 9, playing Dungeon Siege II at my mother's boyfriend's place. His character was named Unholyorder, I believe, whereas mine was named Deadsoul. It was great. Although I had no idea how to properly and effectively assign points and skills to my character nor my party, and although I was terrible at keeping properly armed, I had a great time plowing through the jungles of Eirulan and, eventually, making my way to Aman'lu. I can't begin to describe how many times I had been plowed over by that 3-headed snake before I FINALLY learned the benefits of actual combat tactics and learned to kill the middle one first... Eventually, However, I found Dungeon Siege II: Broken World in a bookstore and I snatched it up immediately. This was just the Expansion, of course. So I couldn't play it, but it reminded me of all the fun I had playing DSII and I was determined to get it again. Which I eventually did. Yet I STILL haven't actually FINISHED Broken World. As long as I've played this game, besides the occasional frustration with modding that took me a while to understand, I've always had fun with it. Hilariously, I almost ALWAYS played as a complete Warrior in these playthroughs. So it remained rather similar between each playthrough in terms of gameplay. Which to me, wasn't a huge deal. Any game that has me playing through it exactly the same way over and over again is a damned good game if you ask me! So why am I buying the Deluxe Edition for it's arguably outrageous price? For the sentimental value. I'd like to look at my collection of Games and see such a beautiful case standing in front of them all. I suppose I could compare it to buying a car that is the same model that your grandfather or best friend had before they passed. Or maybe my fondness of the game is bordering on creepy. blogs: |
