Yes, I did meet another person. He gives me this long speech and how I have to save the Kingdom. He does give me a key, but I cannot find it on any of my crew. Not sure if it's this metaphorical key or a real key?.

It doesn't appear key-shaped. It's triangular because it fits in a triangular hole in the floor, but when you hover your cursor over it it should tell you it's a "key". If you dropped it thinking it was useless, then you may have problems finding it again, but it shouldn't have decayed away like other loot.

Also note that (IIRC) the key is dropped on the ground in the King's cell and you actually have to pick it up.

Thanks guys for the help again.

I will check the floor around the Dude that was giving it to me.

Nipper

Yup!!,, that's where it was. I thought he handed to us, but there it was on the Floor. Thanks again

Well,,, I finished the game and got to the bad guy at the end. It was a tough fight but I thought it was going to be a lot worst. After killing his life form he metamorphosed into the fire spirit thing, that kept calling in demon workers to kill the group. My mages hardly got a chance to use 10% percent of they're magic Scrolls. Some were useful and others were so-so. I liked the game and when I get a rest from it, I will set it to "Stun" level and see how I do.

Thanks for all the help guys ( and ladies ?. Don't want to Offend anyone).

Congrats. Now you just have to decide which of the other maps you want to play next...? Smile

If you choose Lands of Hyperborea, be sure to read the included readme file. It is not optional.

OK, you will have to tell me where I get those?. Is that like a download thing?.

Is "Dungeon Siege II" like the first game ?. and can I use my characters from this game into DS II ?.

Umm... check back in this thread a bit and you will find a couple posts with links.
Wink

DS2 is based on the same game engine, but lots does change (some people prefer DS1...). There aren't nearly as many maps out for DS2 either. DS1 characters are not compatible with DS2 (which has a different character development scheme).

Thanks Sharkull

I will do that.

Can you tell me or show me how to get those other moduals ?.

Which one do you want to try?

Basically, you just find a site with the download, get the file, open it and read the readme file (usually included with the more significant projects). If there's no readme file, then there are some well known basic rules for mod / map installation.

I'll let you pick the one. What site is this?.
Where do I go and how long is the download. One thing I must mention is that
on the PC I have the game it is on "Dial up". Takes forever.

Let me know

Dial-up... ouch. If you can deal with a lengthy download, I'd say my favorite is "The Lands of Hyperborea". Google the name and you'll find a few options for download (version 3.0 is the one you want).

For other options, here's a list of larger maps (don't forget about sjr's link he previously posted too):
http://www.siegenetwork.com/q?dir=Downloads&req=list&id=22
Smaller maps exist too:
http://www.siegenetwork.com/q?dir=Downloads&req=list&id=6

There is another option however, with no download. DS1 comes with two maps; one for single player and another for multi-player. You can play the MP map (the Utraean Peninsula) solo by starting a LAN session as host, and playing that way. Quest status isn't saved when you exit though... so you might want to take pen-and-paper notes as you go to track your progress. There is a mod that enables the saving of quest status in MP, but I've never tried it...

If someone else has another recommendation, please speak up. I haven't played a lot of DS1 maps (just obsessively played a few Wink ), so my knowledge on what's available is limited.

One last comment: I find it difficult to believe that you are new to the game, and don't have the version of the game packaged with the expansion, Legends of Aranna. If you do have LoA, there is a third map added with it, and it is playable in single player.

I hope this helps, and happy gaming.

Well,, It's true. I got the game as a gift a long time ago. At that time I was playing "Boldurs Gate" and the first "Icewind Dale". I never really gave this one a thought. So I have the original game before all the Expansions. I guess I could go on EBay and look for that package gsme. Maybe they still sell it ?.

I know they have it at MicroCenter: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0248057 and recently on a trip there I saw a copy of LoA in the small cd case only section for $5.

I went to the sites you talked about ( Siege network) . I found the Legend of Aranna. Do you have to join and pay a monthly fee. That's what they are asking me. Is the game a commercial product ( buy in a store )?. Unless I plan on downloading dozens of games I don't think I want pay.

Sharkull's picture

LoA is a commercial product you'd need to pay for. All other maps are free to download.

you can still get it here:

- it's brilliant!! :woot:
