Lqd files are necessary in a Tanked map

I discovered some time ago that when working on a map, adding or changing objects and gizmos in a region, will cause stalling when entering that region, until you restitch the regions. Often, I delete Lqd files, and run the uncompressed mod editor map with no adverse effect.

What I have just discovered though, is that this doesn't hold true for a Tanked map. In a Tanked map, without the Lqd files, I got significant stalling when approaching a region. I put the Lqd files back in, and all was good.

Is there a workaround for hireing party members? -DS2

I'm trying to get hireing party members working in my map, without having to do the DS2 main game opening quests. As it is, innkeepers won't deal with you, as they only start with giving you a third slot. Drevin seems to be required as the first party member for the hire system to work.
[EDIT] Even after doing the DS2 opening quests(making sure to activate the Eurulin teleporter), hireing doesn't work, the inn does work for existing party members. As it is, have to return to the Main map to get more party slots.

Is there a workaround?

Progress Report - Dawn of the Third Age Map

While I lost some work done on Dawn of the Third Age when my Drive E was wiped clean, all was not lost. Fortunately I did have fairly up to date bacs of the more important work.
A great deal of what I have to redo is very tedious, time consuming manual corrections on object sizing. Way back when, when initially building the map I had set the size range on many objects to extend slightly beyond the default, 1. At some point I realized this was a mistake, for three reasons;

Another useful program: for comparing files

I have used a program called " ExamDiff " to compare files and discover differences between them.

Windows 10 updates affect DS2 Cursor

Early this morning, June 16, 2017 windows 10 did it's update thing, and I found I couldn't open DS2 (didn't try DS1). The load screen came up, but there was no cursor. Couldn't open the game. Along with this, my browser settings were skewed. and all my restore points had been deleted.
After trying to fix things for a while, I resorted to a two month old Mirror Image backup of my drives. It took an entire day to get through this, but things are working again. Though it will take me at least another day or two to sort it all out.

Decal display problem in Siege Editor

I have this problem when using the DS2 siege editor (haven't tried DS1 yet).
The decals show through the nodes, walls are invisible where they showing through. When you zoom in close, everything is ok. I have Windows 10 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card. I've tried a few things to fix it, but no luck. Any ideas?

[Added observation] In my post "For NVIDIA Graphics card users" I related a problem I had with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card. This problem likely has to do with that card as well.

Run DS1 and 2 Mod Execs without the CD

I usually run DS and DS2 with the Mod execs. You need the CD to run the Mod exec.s. *** (Not True)*** The problem here is if your CD's are old, a bit scratched, and well used, you really want just put them away in a secure place and not have to use them anymore.
So what I did, in order to preserve the discs was to make ISO Copys. If you make it right, the ISO Copy will be excepted by the game, just as if you are using the CD.
