A weird Windows 7 problem.

I just noticed that the icon for the recycle bin is missing. I have tried everything I can think of to get it back. Does anyone know how to get the icon back?

Simply click on “Themes” to go to the desktop icon settings. ... Once again, the problem is easy to fix: Right-click on the desktop and select “View”. In the context menu, select “Show desktop icons”. The Recycle Bin and any other icons will immediately appear on the desktop.

The folder is there and the words "recycle bin" are there just the trash can icon is missing. Thanks for the suggestions but none of them work.

Just reboot - But I don't have anymore Windows 7 - Windows 10 is more reliable and solid that this old Windows 7 (and Windows 8.1). You keep Windows 7 32 bits for old programs/old games (32 bits)?

Yes I keep windows 7 64 bit because of old software and games that will not run on windows 10 and 11. If the icon for the recycle bin goes away again I will just restart. Thank you for the help.
