Happy Valentine's (buy_sappygifts_cards_andcandy_yumchocolate) Day!

So, there's an old Broadway show tune called "My Funny Valentine" which became very popular because it's sweet, sentimental and lends itself to many musical styles. Cover songs were recorded from various artists, including Frank Sinatra, Sting, Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald.

Should old acquaintance be (mumble mumble) and never (mumble mumble}?

Cranberry Sauce. A deep purplish red log that slithers out of the can with a gentle "squich" sound that simply says "Thanksgiving" (to me, anyway. If cranberry sauce starts speaking to you, seek medical advice).

None of this fancy shmancy "whole berry" crap either. Yich. Or even worse, some gourmet home made "ginger and clove" concoction that someone like Martha Stewart would dream up.

Friday the 13th! OoOoOohhh, so spooky!

Triskaidekaphobia is a fear of the number 13. The origins of this fear are kind of unclear. Coupled with the unluckiness of 13 is the belief that Friday is unlucky day of the week, hence the superstitiously bad news day, Friday the 13. Best to just stay in bed.

I like to read. Just about everything, really, but I have a sincere admiration for all that is cheesy too. Most often (well, perhaps not in the modern day) that is called pulp fiction and it was some what of a blanket term for types of fiction (horror, mysteries and thrillers, all that good stuff) as well as a literal definition.
